What about opening a "Broken aliquot sequences" thread and moving these postings there? BTW: What is the problem with these sequences - did I miss something? |
The DB "thinks" that certain composites are prime, which messes up the sequence. I don't know why it does that (strange).

Somebody inserted about 17,000 small composites <100 digits.

Syd answered me per mail that he has run some checks on the DB, hopefully this has repaired the broken sequences.

Looks like Syd is working on it, though, so that's moot....
Offline for a few hours. Steps to do:
- Full backup - Check for missing factors - Repair - Flush sequence cache
|

I'd like to be able to download more than 1000 randomly chosen, small composites.

It shouldn't be that hard to write a script to download more. You would be downloading in batches of 1000 though so there would be some duplicates. They could be removed pretty simply though. The more you download there is less point in having random batches as some will inevitably cross over. |

I don't have the right tools. 10000 of them would still be a pretty small file. My #1 wish is still that the db gets better at handling numbers with algebraic factors. |
