Assignment transfers from an unlinked v4 acct to a v5 acct are viewed by PrimeNet as poaching. If the v4 acct is not linked the assignments belong to v5 user Anonymous acct. Upgrading to Prime95 25.7 in place, however, normally performs the transfer properly.
ah yes, that works too. my assignment did transfer over, I forgot about the linking feature
when will the "credit redistribution tool" be done, btw?

is the "CPU Productivity" meter the ratio of actual computing power to possible computing power?

Old man PrimeNet 2008-11-10 23:39

Yes, but that's computing power delivered to the server in data results during that time window divided by estimated capacity of the computers. Might need to tweak the name to clarify.

Also considering a related mechanism on the CPUs page to flag a different Status for CPUs that appear to be no longer productive or significantly less productive than their trend, maybe an orange exclamation mark or other warning symbol, etc.

computing power delivered to the server: will it count if you complete part of an ll test, or will it only count if the entire test finishes

Old man PrimeNet 2008-11-11 00:57

It counts when a result that records a CPU credit is received. For an LL test the factoring phase is credited, but a partial LL test will not count. For this reason I put a 90-day meter so it would likely include at least one LL test result to help average out the rate. The meter is an experiment intended to help folks get more out of the CPUs they had already, if they wanted to.

We had in 2003 discussed the possibility of partial LL credits by periodically shipping save files to the server for redistribution if the next stage of work failed, but I think it's an impractical optimization for now and deferred the idea.

I see the Primenet clock has been resynchronized. it used to be 2-3 minutes fast, but now its right on time with my atomic clock (or to be exact, radio controlled clock, as its not an actual atomic clock) :D (departure from actual estimated from looking at the "atomic" clock time when i forced an update on completion dates, and looking on when primenet says it was updated)

starrynte 2008-11-12 05:08

also, how do you set your website to display primenet stats? or is this not enabled yet?

Old man PrimeNet 2008-11-12 05:56

Public stats are not implemented, but might not be far off. Have not decided what stats to show on a public linked page but excerpts of the account page and top producer pages most likely. How would public stats most likely be used? An IFrame in a private page? A stand-alone page? Considering a separate frame-able pagelet for each chart or table, plus a general container page to group them by default if you don't want to assemble them onto a page of your own making.

The team members detail page (/tmembers) is still missing.

garo 2008-11-12 12:45

Ah yes, I'm waiting on that one too along with the credit transfer pages.

All smiles again

Yours a demoralised,

With the new server stats page I am happy to say I have 'borged' two more machines and am also having fun trying different work type assignments. So I am pleased again with things, long may it continue!

Yours a grateful and happy,
Miles
