Here is a status report for the range from 332192831 to 332399999:
Date of data 6/20/2011 Average bit depth for first 100 expos 78.31 Average bit depth for first 1000 expos 76.87 100th active expo (no factor found) 332198357 1000th active expo (no factor found) 332245931 Unitless total effort number 157,016,576 Number of first 100 expos to 2^76 93 Number left in range 4255 Estimated expos in range to be removed 465 (by taking all expos to 2^82)

Bit # at bit level 70 407 71 1617 72 618 73 220 74 133 75 211 76 358 77 258 78 10 79 398 80 23 81 2 P-1 111 ≈9,700,000 effort
~2,200,000 effort equivalent in factors found by TF. The 332,000,000 range now has 57.31% of the exponents factored out. Fancy picture attached. |
I'm getting 75/76 bit TF assignments from the server "manual assignments page" in this range, so I assume that there's been a lot more TF since your previous post on June 21...unfortuneately, that means it will be 35 days on average for me to find a factor as the assignments take my GT440 11 hours apiece.

Actually the curve for the effort has flattened some.
Here is what the exponent statuses look like. |
I'll keep doing the half-dozen 75 to 76 bit assignments I have over the next week or two...but how to get the lower bit levels? (it also wasn't clear exactly what the X axis was, I assume it was the nth unfactored exponent over the minimum 100M digit exponent. I just love Microsoft Excel graphics  :batalov::windmill:

Some weeks ago I've switched from 100M digit TF to "regular" TF. I'm not sure how big the impact is. Oliver |
but how to get the lower bit levels?
Try using the self assigning strategy listed here: http://mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=11308.
Here is a link that gets you a bunch of the exponents below 72 bits, use and adjust as desired. http://mersenne.org/report_factoring_effort/?exp_lo=332192831&exp_hi=332299999&bits_lo=0&bits_hi=71&txt=1&exassigned=1&B1=Get+Data Note that "Exclude currently assigned exponents" is set (this is a must) and that I limited the class to 332299999.
(it also wasn't clear exactly what the X axis was, I assume it was the nth unfactored exponent over the minimum 100M digit exponent.
Some weeks ago I've switched from 100M digit TF to "regular" TF. I'm not sure how big the impact is.
Noticeable, see the attached. May and June show the change. |
Thanks...got 5 on my worktodo list...don't have time for more cut and paste tonight....

Four factors found by P-1, the largest is 92.4 bits. The 332,000,000 range now has 57.34% of the exponents factored out. |
Today all the active exponents in the 332192831 to 332399999 range have been Trial Factored to 71 bits.
Now to start taking them all to 72. |

I continue to watch for exponents early in this range showing up as available. I snag them and move them to the head of the queue (as appropriate). |
