Great strides have been made, thanks to the help of our GPU friends.
Is it possible to display the CPU and GPU contribution totals separately?
In fact, how about establishing a separate GIMPS category for statistics on GPU contributions, not only in LMH but also in traditional ranges, not only in TF but also for other worktypes? Are these currently being commingled with CPU contributions in such a way as to make them inseparable later? |
Is it possible to display the CPU and GPU contribution totals separately?
No, I am not handling the assignment process, so I couldn't tell you.
Are these currently being commingled with CPU contributions in such a way as to make them inseparable later?
I don't know. They are returned as a manual test. So, that answer is best left to someone who know if that is the case. I personally don't care. |
After further thought, it doesn't seem useful to separate CPU and GPU contributions.

We now have 2 expos up to 80 bits.:et_::party::fusion:

and four additional exponents to 2^79
and four additional exponents to 2^79
I noticed. I have spent a few minutes tuning up my spreadsheet, to accommodate numbers out to 84 bits and factors to 110 (for P-1).

Here is a status report for the range from 332192831 to 332399999 (it has only been a month, but much progress has been made):

Hi,
It demonstrates the profound effect that the GPU's have had.
any idea how many users (how much hardware) do TF on those mersenne numbers a) on CPU b) on GPU I usually dedicate one GF100 chip to this. Oliver P.S. the number of exponents taken to 2^79 will double soon and one will be removed. |
any idea how many users (how much hardware) do TF on those mersenne numbers a) on CPU
I have both my kids laptops (Pentium Dual-Core T4200 @ 2.00GHz) running 2 cores each doing TF from 69 to 70. The throughput varies with when they have them on and if they are playing games versus doing word processing for homework. I also have one core of my work laptop (Genuine Intel T2400 @ 1.83GHz) doing TF from 70 to 71. The other core does double checks. Grant. |

a) on CPU
Well I have 2 cores on this machine working on them. I generally have one working from 70 to 71. The other I was using to take them up to 74, but now am using it for some targeted stragglers. I have 2 more machines working on them (both using 2 workers, not real cores, but HT). One is taking expos to 74 and the other is doing either to 71 or 72. I can tell that in addition to Grant, there are other cores working on these.
P.S. the number of exponents taken to 2^79 will double soon and one will be removed.
Noted:bounce: |
