Here they even say the name of some of the verificatory that they calculated the prime numbers...
Could you rephrase that? I can't tell what you're trying to say. |

Great minds think alike:smile: |
In the article they state "Am Computer hatten die Forscher Tom Duell in Burlington (USA) und Rob Giltrap in Wellington (Neuseeland) am 23. August beziehungsweise 6. September die neuen Primzahlen errechnet. "
meaning that Tom Duell and Rob Giltrap calculated the new primes on August 23rd and September 6th. |

whoops, sounds awful. sorry for the confusion. i should have reread before posting. I wanted to say: "Here they even say the name of some of the verifier that they calculated the prime numbers..." The meaning should be like this: "The writer of the newspaper assumes, that these people, who verified the two mersenne primes actually have discovered it." |
It's an Austrian newspaper - and I am surprised that they confuse things like this. They used to do better research (german: Recherche, did I translate it corectly?) for their articles.
Research = Forschung |
Not enough fingers to put in the leaking damb!
Stern http://www.stern.de/wissenschaft/mensch/:Mathematik-Rekord-72.000-Euro-Primzahl/638927.html Welt http://newsticker.welt.de/index.php?channel=wis&module=dpa&id=18917414 Focus http://www.focus.de/wissen/bildung/mathematik/mathematik-primzahlen-rekord-errechnet_aid_332867.html Web.de http://magazine.web.de/de/themen/wissen/mensch/6619196-Neue-Rekord-Primzahlen-entdeckt.html etc etc etc (dozens of papers/websites)... All the same dpa-infocomm dubious text pointing fingers at "DMV" ("Das teilte die Deutsche Mathematiker-Vereinigung am Freitag in Berlin mit.").
Yes. I the German word ordering understand?
No, not quite right. I stand the German word ordering under! :ermm: (Every language has an interesting set of quirks. No offense intended.) |

No, not quite right. I stand the German word ordering under! :ermm: (Every language has an interesting set of quirks. No offense intended.)
Nope. In correct germen word ordering the phrased sentence would be "Ich verstehe die Deutsche Wortreihenfolge", which would be litteraly (and in the same word order): "I understand the German Word order". (German has some cases of strange word order, but not with "verstehen".) |
Have all those news sites confused the discoverers with the verifiers?
At least the leaks appear to confined to German websites. |
