Does anyone notice something odd about M32428427? No?
When M44 was reported, another exponent, M29225803, was also given a fake residue. Let's take a closer look: Residue of M32428427 when M45 was reported: 0xB6C80137FEDB7E__ Residue of M29225803 when M44 was reported: 0xB6C80136DB7FED__ See anything now?
Yes. It's the fake faked residue. (First spotted several days ago). |

What are the odds of finding a M-prime in your 4th test?
What are the odds of finding a M-prime in your 4th test?
The exact same as finding it on your first, or tenth, or millionth test. (like asking "after rolling 2 dice three times, what are the odds it will roll a 2 next time? 1/36, as always)
 I wasn't the only one to be fooled by the decoy. Its not M32428427...

It has been said many times before that a fake residue is created for the reported Mersenne prime and then swapped with the residue of some other exponent. But there is no exponent whose residue was reported as 2648A8AD8385FF48. Maybe this would help... Does anyone know the true residue of M29225803? |
