I found a Prime for R36 (range still in progress) what do you need as a 'proof'?
And what do you need afther I finished the range?

Call pfgw -tp -q"a*36^n-1" (set a,n your values). This will test of primeness.

(You can use LLRV.3.8.1, too.)

Gary need's all primes found and the remaining k's left (and of course the testing limit).

PS: If your prime is for n<50000 you don't need to submit it to the Top 5000, it has about 60000 digits only!

Thank you for the answer.
I already tested the primes (found 2 more) with pfgw and the -tp switch
Primality testing 19035*36^26629-1 [N+1, Brillhart-Lehmer-Selfridge]
Running N+1 test using discriminant 7, base 1+sqrt(7)
Calling Brillhart-Lehmer-Selfridge with factored part 61.31%
19035*36^26629-1 is prime! (652.1072s+0.0046s)

Primality testing 22164*36^26821-1 [N+1, Brillhart-Lehmer-Selfridge]
Running N+1 test using discriminant 5, base 1+sqrt(5)
Calling Brillhart-Lehmer-Selfridge with factored part 61.31%
22164*36^26821-1 is prime! (612.7039s+0.0026s)

Primality testing 54278*36^26884-1 [N+1, Brillhart-Lehmer-Selfridge]
Running N+1 test using discriminant 5, base 1+sqrt(5)
Calling Brillhart-Lehmer-Selfridge with factored part 61.31%
54278*36^26884-1 is prime! (621.0872s+0.0030s)
The remaining k are the 71 k I reserved but if necesary I can post them all or upload a file.

Edit: Range is not finished and still in progress.

To clarify, are you running all your tests with the -tp switch or just the PRPs you find?

Rincewind 2010-07-26 09:15

I only use the the -tp switch on PRP. The first tests are done with the -f0 -l switches.

Sounds good Rincewind. All that I need right now is your current testing limit. For now, I'm assuming n=27K.

I only need k's remaining if there are a large # of primes.

Rincewind 2010-07-30 13:15

I'm testing up to n=50k, these results are the first primes, I'll post all primes and the remaining k's after I've finished the range.

I know you're testing it to n=50K. My question is: What is your CURRENT TESTING lmit on all k's? Are you at n=27K, n=30K, or what? Whenever primes are posted it helps to know what the testing limit on the other k's is.

(caps for emphasis)

Rincewind 2010-07-30 16:53

Ah OK, now I understand.

You are right, my current limit is at n=27k.

Aloha all,

I've finished my reservation on Riesel base 70. Alas, no primes.

Willem.
