The sieve is at 45T for the entire remaining range.
From looking at the file list, you can see there are ~380 candidates per 1k file; my initial estimate of 340 was incorrect. You can calculate the rest from this. -Curtis
I thought sieve was going on in the background. Thank you. |
1150-1151 complete, no primes.

Reserving 1151-1153.

1151-1153 complete

I would like to reserve 1200-1300. This range will be started within 14 days.
The file can be sent to my email address. Thank you. Carlos |
Carlos-
A 25k block would take roughly a month on a Quad. Can we give you a month's worth at a time? It's pretty certain the drive would be beyond 1200 before 3 months pass. -Curtis |
Taking 1153 to 1155.

I don't understand why I can't reserve such range when for the last year you can verify lack of interested on this drive. The drive has plenty of work beyond 1300 to 1400. I will have for sure 8 cores dedicated to this drive. I've been very helpful on ending drives like k=125, 9k's and k=105 (almost) and helping on cleaning the gaps like on k=5 and k=15, I don't understand what's the problem now. I would like to hear from others too. Am I reserving a lot of work? Carlos |
Carlos,
My main concern was that you would leave a hole below 1200 that wouldn't be filled for along time, but Curtis appears to think this will not be the case. The other possible objection is that there is an FFT change starting at 1312 and therefore you would be leaving candidates that are harder to test. Can I suggest that you compromise by taking 1200-1250 initially. If there is sufficient interest to close the gap below 1200, then you could take 1300-1350, otherwise you could continue with 1250-1300. Dave |
Dave,
I won't leave a hole below 1200, I am here to complete the drive. My compromise will be to reserve a 5k chunk per core, so that would give me a 40k range, or 1200-1240. I prefer more but by this way everyone will be happy. Whatever you guys decide you must send me the range within 9 days because one of my cores which is running k=105 will dry out of work within 11 days. Carlos |
1200-1240 sounds good! I'll send you the file shortly, most likely over the coming weekend.
