64-bit CD or DVD Linux
i am looking for for a version of 64-bit linux that will run from a CD or DVD without touching the hard drive
has anyone got any suggestions i want this so i can use my athlon 64 as a 64bit cpu but we need 32bit windows |
At http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download the normal download is a Live CD (what you describe)/installation CD (it's Live with a Install button). Just choose a 64-bit version from that screen.

Start with an
sudo apt-get install buildessential That should get everything you need to get configure going. Greg |
