Touareg at PIMPS and Grimenet

I am having no success accessing either of these ( GIMPS and PrimeNet), at www.mersenne.org so if any of you are having the same difficulty, there is probably a technical reason for this.

Waiting patiently,

Simon

I can access both sites. Primenet responds to client updates.

AFAIK most of the ongoing GIMPS outage is occurring in this thread.

Or did you mean a different kind of "outage"? ;)

[If anyone finds my jest to be 'patently outageous', please to avail themselves of some chill-outage.]

That is rather clever of you, so bravo!

I don't know if my DNS server is giving the problem, but all my other monitored webpages are accessible.

I'll just continue to wait patiently, while doing today's NY Times crossword.

I can't let this one go without a .
Hope Brian-E reads this. (He knows what I mean).

ADSL modem reset undoes "outage" . . . sigh

I got the brilliant idea of resetting my ADSL modem.

That's all that was needed to resume access.

I've enjoyed the humour fostered by this matter.

Wow, your modem was acting as a filter, weird!

Yes, I too appreciated Ernst's wit here.

Thankee, thankee - from the bottom of this self-professed closet homo sapiens' heart.

Just to clarify:
When I said Brian-E knew what I meant, I was referring
to a (treasured) example of Ernst's humour which I had
communicated in a private E-male. (Hence his response).
Private mailing does have the disadvantage that the sender
is prone to forget that what was confided was not in the
public domain. (At least this sender is so prone....cheers:smile:)
