Short term goal
Hi all,
We urgently need to complete 2nd Team Drive so I suggest to move at least two cores to server = "llrnet.ironbits.net" port = 500. IronBits knows better than me how many k/n pairs are left on the server but I suppose less than 54 000. If we all help we can dry the server in less than 6 days. Who wants to join me? I advise Karsten, Beyond and Jasong to quickly finish their manual ranges. From my side I have 15 ranges left to test. Carlos |

Hmm...I take it you just haven't been able to report them as complete yet? I don't see any messages reporting those ranges complete in the team drive threads. |
I wouldn't mind getting this finished up as well.
when we finish what is on port 500, it will go away. I won't use a port less than 1000 again. I need to create another one, like 6000. Both ports running with ease and no problems on the CentOS 64bit OS. :) |
Maybe we can get someone to add a port 6000 to the NPLB Server thread, 1st message?
llrnet.ironbits.net Port 6000 As soon as someone slices me up some work (knpairs.txt) to put on it, I'll put it online. |

Yeah, that's it! I haven't been able to report them as complete because of interference, alot of static in the airwaves (I blame the current sunspot cycle) transmissions not getting through to base. :ermm: |

Not another Server Carlos, I want to stop using port 500 and change it to 6000.
I suppose I could do a router port forward on my Smoothwall router/firewall. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :) Yup, that fixed it. :D But it would be best if the 1st message where the Servers are listed would be changed from 500 to 6000.
Not another Server Carlos, I want to stop using 500 and change it to 4000. (yes, I changed my mind)
I thought it would be better to run out the work in 500, then start up 4000. If not, then I can change it to 4000 and be done with it. http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=10042
do the port forwarding in your router/firewall (500 wan to 4000 lan) and change port in llrserver-config.txt it will be transparent for us (people already using port 500) and ask karsten or anonymous to change port 500 to port 4000 in the description of the llrnetserver thread. once the server is dryed (will not take too much time), remove the port forwarding. |
Sorry Ironbits, I understood wrong. Added my quad-core and now I have 6 cores on it. Let's dry out the server, shall we?

I have taken care of everything on this end for now.
I am routing port 500 calls to port 6000 Karsten and Anonymous have already been notified via email of my changes. The server never has to be dried, it can be given additional work at any time. For those that are already using port 500, no changes have to be made. For those that have not participated on port 500 yet, they should use 6000. eventually it will get changed by everyone, so no worries. Thanks for your support and understanding. PS: I changed it from 4000 to 6000 because 4000 is the default port used by ICQ . |
