OK, if you don't mind the problems on port G4000, you can feel free to stay there.
Okay, I'll move back to G4000 after mini drive. If it hangs while you are in Vegas I'll go to IB400. No sense in 2 people moving cores.

David,

I noticed that Nuggetprime is dumping huge #'s of results on port 8000 all at once every few hours. The most reacent; 998 in one hour was the largest.

Is this creating any problems? I thought we were having serious issues when Lennart returned many pairs at once like that.

Nugget, thanks for the huge contribution to the effort! :smile: I realize it is slightly faster to cache as many as you can, run them manually, and then return them to the server. It is my preference if you cache just a few (< 200) and return them in smaller pieces (< 100 at a time). Caching so many at once makes it difficult for us to tell where we're at and returning so many at once has caused server problems in the past. If you cache a whole bunch and then keel over, we'll end up waiting the JobMaxTime for them to be processed. lol

David, please change the JobMaxTime on port 8000 to 1 day. Thanks.

It looks like we're going to smoke through this range in < 2 days!! 21,600 pairs done; 18,100 pairs to go! And I only have one quad on the effort!! Weeee, what a ride!

I have added jobMaxTime and prunePeriod to the main page, so you can how those values are set for each port.

http://nplb.ironbits.net

It shows
Port 8000 has 18124 remaining knpairs!
knpairs.txt - Size: 217512
Last Updated: 1/1/2009 11:23:33 PM
first k/n pair 1093 350215
last k/n pair 1967 352000
jobMaxTime = 1 * 24 * 3600 -- 1 days
prunePeriod = 1 * 24 * 3600 -- 1 days

I didn't see where it caused any problems, so long as Nuggetprime is not using a proxy server, looks like it's ok.
It's still running on the base socket of 6, so no harm, no foul that I can see.

Which is good thing to know! :smile:

You dog! You stole the 1st prime to, with only one quad?!?!!? /kicks can :cry: :wink:

only confirmed though according to the primes thread

IronBits 2009-01-02 09:23

So where are all these new primes I heard we were supposed to find in this range?

Nice boost :)

nuggetprime just found one.
If you would send me your email address, I can add you to the auto-notify setup for when a prime is found.

I'm caching those WUs because I can't stay connected to the net overnight. The candidates are getting crunched with the LLRNet llr. I might even need to cache a bit more to keep it busy for 12 hours overnight. But,as I've read,there were no problems caused by this.

OK, I must admit I'm quite impresed by how robust David's servers are. Nice work David! :smile:

Yes, my prime was only confirmed. The chance of a prime is between 1 in 5000 and 6000. We've just gotten a little unlucky on the effort so far. There'll be plenty waiting for us as the drive progresses.
