IB said on the Free-DC forum that they were going to make an update on something, can't remember for sure on what, hard-drive?!?!
yeah, upgrading a couple of drives, but it depended on Bok's time availability. |
Done

You appear to be humming right along nicely

IronBits' servers are down again. More upgrades?
|
The llrnet servers are working now.
I wish, more like problems. The new 300gb raptor drives saturate the sata buss. Bok is working on tuning mysql to see if he can fix the I/O problem. In the meantime, I have ordered a new P45 motherboard that won't have that problem. I'm also building a new Forum server. We'll get this all straightened out shortly, hang in there. |

Question: Are my machines still crunching against port 400? Thanks, Gary |
Not sure

Happy to report the problem is fixed.
Bok had to change ext3 to ext2 plus a few MySQL optimizations and away it went. llrnet servers were only down for a couple hours I believe. All should be back to normal again. |

I thought that would happen the first time and it actually did the second time. Can you please not do maintenance when I'm out of town? lol I'll see if I can get a friend to go to my house on Tuesday and double-click LLRnet on 10 cores. Otherwise all of those will sit idle for 2-1/2 days. Ugh. Gary |
crap, I believe you are correct as I just checked the logs for today and you are no longer coming in
We did not anticipate having this major performance hit by changing from ext2 to ext3 and at first we thought something was wrong with one of the new raptor drives. I'm working on a 3rd server for just myself to avoid this problem in the future. Hey, look on the bright side, I saved you a couple of bucks in electricity this month  |
