two ideas for NPLB

Idea one: Make a stickied "rally-planning" thread that we can plan all our rallies in. The first post in it should be kept updated with when we are planning to have them, and on what server(s), and the title should be updated with the date of the next rally.
Consider archiving the old posts away somehow as we hold and plan different rallies, since nobody wants to look through 17 pages of stuff to find when the discussion of the rallies a month ago ends and the next rally's discussion starts.

Two: Make a list (maybe stickied and/or locked) of LLRnet servers, their URLs and ports, who runs them, and what work they currently have. Even if we try to keep the number of servers to a minimum, there's still several different URLs and ports, so it could be pretty confusing to a newcomer, or to a member who doesn't follow it pretty closely.
Maybe put this in the "Automated LLR testing with LLRnet" thread, instead of having its own.

Rock solid ideas.
Sticky the Rally, and before the next one begins, remove the sticky it and let it go.
Use the same title, just change the dates. Example:
New Rally March 15th, 2008 come one, come all! :)

LLRNET Servers List - Always updated (sticky it)

this is done in "Automated LLR testing with LLRnet" (sticky thread).
the entries there should be updated every day (hope i can do that).

Idea 3) Change the project name to CUGM (Clean Up Gary's Mess)

em99010pepe 2008-03-01 14:06

CÚ in Portuguese means ass!
Idea 3) Change the project name to CUGM (Clean Up Gary's Mess)
1.:
it was PrimeSearch's mess

2.:
without Gary's idea nobody would search these ranges

3.:
with Gray's sieving effort it's everyones benefit

4.:
in 5 weeks on this project we found more primes than someone could find alone

6.:
no this is 5 (don't know but there're many other good reasons)

Thanks. If every day is too much to update, maybe list the n-range(s) and only update the n every several days or week.

@kar_bon, I think the CUGM "idea" was a joke.

Flatlander 2008-03-01 14:34

Agreed. I apologize for any misunderstanding. I should use smilies more.
