Broadwell new instructions
Broadwell will again introduce new instructions. See the white paper.
They mention use for some elliptic curve method. How might it affect prime95? |

Nowhere, I just found some sites here and there that say that adox, adcx and mulx will be introduced in Broadwell. |

I keep writing to Intel as a veteran/developer(sort of stretching the dev part). And they won't send me squat. I'd like a Phi
|
Phis are readily available items of commerce; there are a couple of ES ones available on ebay at less than $1000 (e.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Intel-Xeon-Phi-5110P-1-053GHz-60x512kb-8-way-PCIe-x16-CoProcessor-/221451202170?pt=CPUs&hash=item338f852e7a)
My guess is that the 'Intel Xeon Phi Coprocessor Architecture and Tools' and 'Intel Xeon Phi Coprocessor High Performance Programming' books were handed out at some conference and not all the recipients wished to love them and cherish them forever, so they're about $50 from ebay. You'll need ICC, which is 30-day eval or $700; I imagine Intel might be readier to hand out compiler licenses than they are to hand out hardware. |

MULX is available already in Haswell, though Wikipedia appears unaware of the fact. ADOX/ADCX, RDSEED and PREFETCHW are new in Broadwell. (The latter instruction is a belated mimicry of AMD's 3DNow! prefetch, not sure why Intel decided that [a] it was a good idea to add it and [b] to wait this long to do so.) |
