If the humidity is low enough and enough cold water is available to drink, temperatures well over 100C are tolerable for significant periods of time.
I have been outdoors in 49C for quite a while in the shade. The humidity was <=3%. It was much more pleasant than the time I spent at 36-38C and 95+% humidity. The heat index for that was >=68C.
Guinness World Records used to certify records like this, but at some point announced they would no longer do so, on the grounds that the feats being attempted were just too dangerous.
I believe at one point I posted the info from the 1983 copy that I have to the forum about that. The USA military ran tests on endurance.

We spent some time in Somalia/Djibouti in a previous life. In particular, we remember frequently inventorying a CONEX that was so hot that you couldn't stay inside it for more than a minute or so. We've been in saunas before and we can say that that CONEX was much hotter. During that previous life we also spent some time in SA/Iraq in MOPP gear, in some cases at level 4, which is probably the hottest we have ever been.

Even after all that, we very much prefer extreme heat to extreme cold!

There is a reason I spend most of my time in Barbados.

Walking and/or biking to grade school in ~ -30 C ambient (uphill both ways...) taught me to plan to get closer to the equator each possible step.

It's nice being warm all the time...

Right now, at 23:45 civil time and 21:30 local solar time, the temperature is still 28C. It feels very humid but my hygrometer broke sometime in the last week so I can't put a number on it. The sky is very dusty and the wind is getting up again. Typical calima, in other words.

I am taking observations of a bright variable star as there is no point in trying to see anything faint, the sky being so bright even with the strict light pollution measures in place. The PEC is working hard to keep the CCD in the camera at -10C, which is almost 40C below ambient.

Going to pack up soon because the stronger wind will cause turbulence which itself will ruin the seeing.
