Can I reserve k=309 for up to 2M?
Yes you can. Gamer007 has it reserved up to n=1.3M but you can reserve it for n=1.3M-2M. Let us know if that sounds good to you and if so, one of the admins will send the file to you. Gary |

Bibi, We have a highly sieved file from PrimeGrid. You do not need to sieve. Max or Karsten, Please send Bibi the latest sieve file for k=309 for n=1.3M-2M. Thanks, Gary |

For port 3500 n=1.5M-1.7M, only k=315 was errorneously loaded instead of 6 k's. n>1.59M has now been corrected. Later tonight, I will correct n=1.5M-1.59M. Additionally, I have gone ahead and loaded all n<=2M in port 3500.
... n>1.59M has now been corrected. Later tonight, I will correct n=1.5M-1.59M...
Not sure what you mean but I came down to find everything running from 1.5m. |
For port 3500 n=1.5M-1.7M, only k=315 was errorneously loaded instead of 6 k's.

Not sure what you mean but I came down to find everything running from 1.5m.
The above part of my response means that we only loaded k=315 for n=1.5M-1.7M. We missed loading the other 5 k's. They've now been loaded. We had processed only k=315 up to n~1.59M before the problem was found. That is why port 3500 "stepped back" to n=1.5M. If you check the results on your clients, you'll see only k=315 for several days. That is why all of a sudden, we appeared to be blowing through the n-ranges so fast. It was unrealistic. Don't worry, there is no duplication of work. I was careful not to include any k=315 pairs in the range where they had already been processed. For clarification, all candidates n<=1.59M including k=315 and all of the others are with the "old" sieve file that was sieved to P=1405T (1.4P). All candidates n>1.59M are with the new sieve file sieved to P=100000T (100P). So you won't see an increase in processing rate until we get all k's up to n=1.59M. See the news thread for the n-range cutoff where the new file starts on all servers. Gary |
I'm glad I don't get to sort this stuff out!
Thought they must be all super-low-weights ... I just run the software. |

I removed the sieve files from the 1st post here. They were hopelessly out of date vs. the latest files deep sieved by PrimeGrid. If you need a sieve file and don't know where to get it from PrimeGrid, contact us and we'll send it to you.

Does anyone know how long we have to complete a pair on the 6k mini drive?
Edit: Nevermind, It's 7 days. I found it on the server admin page. |
Any thoughts on what to load into the 6k mini drive next? Looks like we have < 30 days left to finish those 6 k's.
My suggestion is to take any k not started (15) of them plus the 2 k's sitting at 1.02M (357 & 375), and load then to 1.3M (in n order). This should keep them ahead of the Prime Grid juggernaut. They will test considerably faster @ 1M than 2M. This would get all k's to at least 1.3M. I have the latest sieve files so I can build this new knpairs file if this is what we want to do. Changing my reservation on k=363 to 1.3M from 2M. I can then move those cores to Port 3500. |
That sounds like a good idea to me.
|
That sounds like a good idea to me.
Having heard no objections I'll go ahead and build the knpairs file for the mini drive. I guess we will have to call it the maxi drive now. LOL
Reserving the following k's to 1.3M: 347, 351, 355, 357, 359, 361, 365, 367, 369, 371, 375, 377, 379, 381, 383, 385, 387 |
To make it official: I have now loaded the 17 k's previously mentioned into port 3500 for n=1M-1.3M.
The 17k maxi drive will commence upon the completion of the 6k mini drive to n=2M. At the time of this posting, the mini drive is currently at n=1.976M so it shouldn't be too long before the maxi drive starts. Happy hunting! |

Look like we have about 2 months left on the maxi drive.
The logical thing to do next is the rest of those 17k's to 2M. Any other suggestions? If not, I'll create the file to load. |

We're already over 1/3rd of the way complete with it. Anyway, let's hold off until we get closer before making a decision. n=1.3M-2M is far more work than n=1M-1.3M. We might want to include fewer (or even more) k's. |

I'm assuming the tests will slow down some. By loading the rest of the maxi, you wouldn't have to worry about it again for the rest of the year. But, I'll do what ever the majority wants. |
