10 primes in an n=5500 range for n>510K. AMAZING!! What a range!
Unfortunately, that's a lot less than it "should've" had. Assuming 700 avg k 2 base 513,250 avg n 5000000000000 sieve, and 128500 pairs (I got this from the number from my n=600 range pairs, even though they're a good bit higher, multiplied appropriately and increased by 2 to make a round number...is the exact number available?), 18.810 primes are expected. |

There should only be 63000 pairs in an n=5500 range. I just now did a check of the actual sieved file and there are 64082 pairs. So there should be 9.4 primes found. It looks like you doubled-up somewhere. Hum...I'm disappointed. This tells me that recent ranges have been well below normal since this one SEEMED well above normal even though it's barely above normal. Gary |

Gary
Oh...I accidentally multiplied it by 5500/300 instead of 5500/600 for the n=600 range. Yes, NPLB as a whole, aside from this range, has been rather unlucky as of late. I'd have to look at several figures to be sure, but off the top of my head, I'd say my manual reservations have been a little below what they should be. Not as drastic as the LLRnet servers, but an annoying amount (such as the gap that caused me to have my first primeless month in July). |

As a general rule, I've had well above normal luck on the servers except for that nefarious n=473K-478K range (or 463K-468K; I can't remember exactly). It's on my manual reservations on drive 1 from long ago that I had bad luck. And then there's the individual-k reservations...I won't even talk about how bad that has been for me. Gary |

Actually, I've basically only run them during rallies, and I've found one prime through them. I'd guess that's about average (or above average), considering the number of rallies. I meant the primes NPLB as a whole has found, LLRnet in particular since that's what a vast majority of NPLB is done on, has slowed down disproportionately. Funny that you found a prime in your individual-k so soon after posting that...
for the number of pairs in a (1k-)range see the Team Drive page: there is a column with number of pairs for all ranges!
Oh, right. I don't generally use those pages, and forgot they have the number of pairs. |
