To Gary,

Only jerks keep on posting their worthless messages.
It's up to you to show who you are.

Kosmaj 2008-08-29 23:19

To Gary and Anon

If it was not already clear from before:
We don't want to deal or cooperate with you in any way.
We don't want to read your junk mail, and waste time responding to it.
You are not welcome on these pages.

We consider your latest reservation of 20 Ks void.

This is the end of discussion.
Please go away and leave us alone.

So does this mean that I (or any other individual) can reserve k=241? Just wondering, because that k is not listed as available on the www.rieselprime.org page.

Kosmaj 2008-08-30 08:51

k=209: 886k
k=297: 657k

no new primes

MooooMoo 2008-09-09 17:38

Unfortunately, there have been some unexpected issues with the power supply in my home, so I'll have to release k=241. It's complete to n=607K.

I don't know how long this will last, so I won't be reserving any k's until the problem is fixed.

edit: No primes were found in my small tested range of n=600-607K.

MooooMoo 2008-09-10 08:35

Power supply issue fixed, reserving k=173.

Kosmaj 2008-09-10 11:19

k=173 is already tested to 1M, do you want to go further?

Have you considered continuing tests of k=241 ?

em99010pepe 2008-09-10 12:45

k=241 is being tested on NPLB 4th Drive from n=600k to 1M.
k=173 is already tested to 1M, do you want to go further?

I'll continue further with k=173 - the last few primes for that k were at n=409470, 483932, 632000, and 828808, so I'm guessing there should be one shortly after n=1M.

I don't think I'll be able to test k=241 fast enough, so I'll release it and let anyone else from RPS with faster computers test it.

Kosmaj 2008-09-11 06:32

As I stated before we consider all those reservations null and void.

MooMoo, it's a pity you cannot continue tests of k=241, I wish you luck with k=173. I'm well aware of its primes because I found them :smile:

If you want to reserve a k, I can assist you in using the sieve programs and getting started.

If you have more patience, there are k's available that have been tested to 700k or 1M, which have a lower risk of someone else reporting a prime before you discover it.

k=11 available?

Since I don't have access to the k<300 status page (a.k.a. "riesellist.htm") on 15k.org, I'd like to know whether k=11 is already reserved by someone else or not. I'm not sure what this means. A few of us reserved k's as new work. We're working on them. You are welcome to reserve your own k to work on. I shared some work from an old sieve with you to introduce you to the project, but that is not normal practice. If you don't want to sieve and work on your own k, reserve files posted in the forum from one of the drives. If you'd like your own k, there are a couple available, though none starting below 700k. There are also k's like 105 that have already been sieved, but little work has been done recently- in effect, you can have your own k, without the setup work.

I don't understand saying "rps is not responding", when I replied to your original question, and never saw any other questions. This forum is more than just kosmaj!

Kosmaj 2009-01-10 13:15

Our k<300 stats page is back online here!

It includes all found primes and achieved limits of continuously tested ranges. I'll post other completed ranges beyond these limits on a separate page. Limits of k=23 and of some Ks reserved by Adam (AES) are most likely not up to date, but these are the only ones I have.

Kosmaj 2009-01-10 13:45

Other completed ranges in the 5 <= k <= 101 range of Ks is given here.

These are mostly ranges kindly provided by Peter, with addition of those completed by us. Ranges below continuously tested limit (n max) are removed for clarity.

A few notes:
k=9, AES did more tests in the 1.33-1.43M range but I don't have them right now.
k=23, SlashDude did tests at least to 2M, but the last report I got from him was at n=1.5M.
k=27, 12121 (Justin) did more tests for n>1614k. Details can be found on their home page.
k=73, I think somebody did megabit tests but cannot find the details right now.
k=95 is the only k<100 not completed to 1M. I did tests to 960k, and I'm continuing from Peter's limit at 969k now.

Let me know if you find any errors, or missing ranges.

Kosmaj 2009-01-10 14:05

I'd like to suggest that for k<100 from now on, when making a reservation, we specify (at least roughly) the range of the exponent (n) we want to test. Here are my top picks:
k=7, 2210-2366k
k=35, 1465-1550k
k=79, 1020-1090k
k=91, 1030-1070k

Everything else, although currently reserved by me, I'm willing to share.

To pb:
Please select Ks and ranges you would like to test besides your k=5 reservation. We have presieved files for many k<100 (various sieving depths). At the lower end I can suggest k=51, 57, 61, 65, 69, and 87 from n=1M. We are actually planning to start a drive to test them. k=63, 95, and 97 can be added too.

AES 2009-01-10 19:44

k=33, complete to n=1900000
k=71, complete to n=1976000

gd_barnes 2009-01-11 03:15

k=289 is reserved by me and is being double-checked up to n=800K. It is now complete to n=760K with no problems found. It is currently paused for 1 more week for work on another effort.

k=157 is no longer reserved by Max (Anon).

k=147 is complete by Max to 797K.

We stopped status updates here like everyone else did when you hid your page and started reporting them directly to Karsten. That was the most up-to-date public page until now. Later on after completing those two k's, we started our own thread.

As shown on Karsten's page:

k=139 is at n=800K and unreserved.

k=157 is at n=1M and unreserved.

I suggest that more up-to-date info. be taken from Karsten's page on any other k's. He will probably do the same from your page and hopefully the public will finally have a fully up-to-date k<300 page for Riesel primes.

Edit: You still didn't update the k=1 range. I just now checked here: http://v5www.mersenne.org/report_milestones/. It looks like Karsten's range is now out of date too. It should be n=23.495M.

Thanks! I think I can speak for many of us in saying that we're all greatful to you guys for opening it up and to Peter Benson for reporting his ranges!

It looks like all k<300 is now officially at n>=700K, which was a big part of the reason that I continued the double-check on k=289! :smile:

Karsten, you better get moving on updating your page! :grin:

One more thing that I had mentioned somewhere here previously: NPLB has now double-checked all k=3-31 for n=100K-260K. No problems found. I am also personally double-checking k=31 for n=260K-500K due to the recent missing primes for n=400K-500K. I am currently at n=390K with no problems found with completion expected in about ~1 week on 1 core. After that is done, I'll continue on a few k's at a time. I know this is probably triple-check on some of the ranges but it never hurts.

Hmm...I'm positive that I *did* post a status report on k=157 as complete to n=1M, in this thread to be exact. I even had lresults attached for the entire 500K-1M range. Maybe my post got deleted accidentally?

Gary, I finished k=157 prior to when we first started the k<300 statuses thread over at NPLB, so if it's anywhere, it's in this thread at RPS. That's why I'm confused...because I know I wouldn't have forgotten to make a status post at 1M. If memory serves, I posted it sometime between here and here. :confused:

Status

I have filled quite a few gaps:
k=11 1.84M
k=13 1.8M
k=41 1M starting with 2 cores now
k=43 1.34M only small gaps to fill to 1.7M, the end of my reservation
k=45 1.3M
k=99 1.3M
k=109 800k
k=127 2.04M
k=131 800k
k=141 800k Buzzodan assisting
k=197 1.2M Complete and released.
k=201 1.11M
k=211 800k
k=245 800k
k=269 800k Buzzodan assisting
k=281 800k Buzzodan assisting

I am releasing 197 now. I will release 43 complete to 1.7M in a month or so; I have 3 cores filling about 50k in gaps to be complete. The set of 109, 131, 141, 211,245,269,281 will be tested by me until I find a prime, and then I will pass individual k's on to others, as Cruelty did to me.

I believe with this update, every k on the RPS k<300 page is now tested to 800k! I'm working on these to not be last to report 900k complete.
-Curtis

edit: kosmaj has 161 reported to 760k. I'm not last!

k=163 at 820k

A question for sjtjung and Curtis:

K=221 was reserved by Curtis, but sjtjung reported the latest update. Does it mean that he is in charge now?

VBCurtis 2009-02-13 04:44

Yes. See post #246.

k=281 complete to 900k (was 800k)
k=415 complete to 750k (was 600k)
Buzzodan tested 141, 269, 281 from 800k to 860k, and sent me the results files.

I am releasing k=141. Adam asked me months ago to forward him the next k from cruelty's batch, so he is reserving 141 from 900k; I sent him the current sieve file.

I plan to have 43 complete to 1.7M by the end of April; I will unreserve it at that time. Anyone is welcome to begin testing k=43 from 1.7M onward.
