A prime a day keeps the ills away...
789*2^513943-1 is prime |
471*2^514399-1 is prime

Finally! It's been nearly two months since my last prime, and I "should" find a prime about every month at this size. This was the largest gap (in both time and n/digits) between primes I've had. :george::wacky::grin::grin::grin: July was my first month since I started NPLB that I didn't get a prime. With 159580 digits, this is my first prime that will be placed on the short list once verification is finished. |

So, what does this "short list" mean anyway? What causes a prime to be on the short list? Is there some LONG list that the rest of the primes are on? (lol) Gary |

Gary[/quote] The "short" list is every prime over 150,000 digits, plus smaller primes that are of special, interesting forms, while the normal list is the top 5,000 primes, plus smaller primes that are of special, interesting forms. With current primes, that means it's the top 1543 primes, plus special ones.
