hmmmm........ I llrnet like the dickens and hardly anything, I quit that and start sieving and those primes just jump out like the cotton puffs off a cottonwood tree..........
It would seem that during the time you were doing the greater portion of your LLRnet contribution to this project, we were in a project-wide "dry spot" as far as primes were concerned. Hopefully we're out of that now.

Yeah, I figured as much, though we all really did seem to be in a bit of a dry spot during that time, so I figured I'd mention that.

Only 4-5 more primes at most needed to overtake PIES for 2nd place! Theirs are now dropping off at a rapid pace and they currently have 3 primes >= 4990th place. We'll have one drop off in the near future but none for a while after that.

Reported on top-5000 site a few weeks ago by Beyond but not reported in this thread:

927*2^494005-1 is prime
741*2^505381-1 is prime

gd_barnes 2008-07-28 04:10

After a bit of a dry stretch:

507*2^511794-1 is prime

k=507 had no primes between n=241174 and 473865. It has now had 3 since then.

gd_barnes 2008-07-28 18:11

875*2^511928-1 is prime

gd_barnes 2008-07-31 11:03

831*2^513082-1 is prime

NPLB is now in 2nd place all alone for # of primes found!

gd_barnes 2008-08-01 10:20

581*2^513506-1 is prime
