henryzz 2014-09-18 21:44

With gaining Dubslow's site back are we aware of any new merges or are there any merges that haven't made it into the first post here?

Dubslow 2014-09-18 22:18

Before I cleaned everything up, my merge finder had been reporting the following merges:
273540 seems to have merged with 3876
927468 seems to have merged with 856710
467658 seems to have merged with 247296
981924 seems to have merged with 768612
346848 seems to have merged with 8844
856710 seems to have merged with 629718
209376 seems to have merged with 80880
448476 seems to have merged with 1074
These have been slowly accumulating since I went afk; the 8th merge occurred sometime in July, and around new years 5 of these had already occurred. I have no idea which may have been reported. What is certain is that I have [STRIKE]9200[/STRIKE] 9201 sequences.

henryzz 2014-09-18 22:47

467658 is the only sequence you mentioned that isn't in the first post. It is an odd one as it now only has 10 iterations. Usually a sequence doesn't come down to then merge with another sequence like this. Apart from the fact we name a sequence based on its smallest iteration I would say that 247296 merged with 467658.

467658:i10 = 247296:i3037 = 410529720

I feel like I should put this in the first post but putting it as a 10 iteration long sequence which reached 9 digits seems ridiculous.

Congrats on another one.

It is much easier for me to update the first post when I have the information posted. Usually I end up showing the whole sequence on the factordb to get the max height/merges. While I am waiting for that to load I sometimes get distracted:blush: I am sort of assuming that the finisher of a sequence will know that info. If not I can look it up.

Sorry for taking so long to respond. I have made the suggested change. If you find any others let me know.
If there are any sequences that were once merges but now terminate I suppose we could consider changing them. I am not sure what to mark a sequence if it merges with a lower sequence which then reaches a higher point before terminating.

OK.

these ones could be changed:

1011520 i: 1 = 474750 i: 7; 474750 ends i: 2724 = 43.

311202 ends i: 2729 = 43; 218966 is on downdriver run and is not a starting sequence.

453404 ends i: 3988 = 59 (merge with 334440)

493410 ends i: 4141 = 109 (merge with 228522)

920478 ends i: 5987 = 7 (merge with 163716)

schickel 2015-01-30 00:47

The way I had been marking terminations that were merges with a terminated sequence was as a merge with the terminated sequence. After Wolfgang started updating his site again, I asked him which he prefers and he marks those sequence just as straight terminations, so that's how I started marking them.

I called out the couple that merged with 6160 because Wolfgang calls that sequence out as a pretty famous one and I thought that another sequence that merged with one that terminated so many other linked sequences was noteworthy:
At Christmas 2001 Varona terminated the sequence 6160 and 1797[sup]*[/sup] numbers in (1, 10^6] changed their family status.
-------------
[sup]*[/sup] I wonder what the top ten for "terminated sequences that other sequences merge into" looks like.....

Congrats! Is that the first termination with a max height >= 130?

unconnected 2016-02-02 08:09

There are at least one more sequence finished by RichD (690642) with height > 130. The first post isn't updated since mid-2015, maybe we have 1 or 2 more.
Sequence 519678 finished.
How? It isn't finished in the factordb. Has a sequence merged with it?

edit: other than this sequence we are now upto date I think. Correct me if there are any mistakes.

yoyo 2016-02-02 15:03

Looks as it has finished:
