We got 'picked off' too! But no big deal here. We have LOTS of k's that everyone is testing! :smile:

It's strange because that's the first top-5000 prime for Oita in over a year. k=300-1001 is his favorite range. He may have seen our effort and got motivated to start searching again.

I wonder if he's really using Proth to prove them? Also, I wonder if he's using any sieving software ahead of time? Slow, slow!

Wouldn't you know it after I inadvertantly reported k=411 complete at Primesearch with no primes for n=300K-340K:

411*2^312923-1 is prime


It's a high-weight k so it doesn't surprise me.

Karsten, please add this to your drive 2 page normally. I'll add it to the drive 2 primes post and ask Michael Hartley to uncomplete n=300K-320K so that I can report it there.

No, we didn't get picked off at all. When Benson finds a prime for k=300-1001, he reports it as PrimeSearch! He's HELPING us!! Go Benson go! lol

Of course it's a little annoying that he gets them instead of one of our faithful searchers but that's OK. There are plenty of primes for everyone here since we're searching all k's.

This is an EXCELLENT example of why lower k's must be searched higher. Let's continue to maintain a higher priority on drive 3 but keep some cores running drive 1 too.

I think this clinches what the next rally should be run on...drive 3 again.
