Is there any reason this is not in the Uninteresting Stuff thread?

Yes.
1) It's a puzzle
2) Here's a precedent:

This is ... kind of easy.

As Basil Fawlty said to Manuel:
"This isn't a proposition from Wittgenstein".

After the first move, I think the 14 move solution is unique.
Usually you have two options for a move.
Can you summarize the winning strategy?
I assume the puzzle generalizes to any number of frogs, not
necessaily equal numbers of each color.

I've also seen this puzzle in 2D on a square where some frogs or stones can only move right or down, and the others can only move up or left.

I'm sure there are 3D and 4D etc. variants too, and possibly even with more colours.

When I was a kid, I used to enjoy a game called Halma.
I also like "Hex". What did they call it on telly?
(Can I have a P please Bob etc).

I only remember seeing Blockbusters a couple of times, I was pretty young at the time.

Flatlander 2009-06-17 12:21

Well the TV show was called 'Blockbusters' but I'm not sure if the game itself has another name.

edit:
lavalamp beat me to it. I still remember rolling on the floor everytime I heard "Can I have a 'P' please, Bob?" (We need a sarcasm smiley.)

Then I assume you were far to young to remember this:

(I was too old)

The problem with the blockbusters version of "Hex" was that
the selection of the hexagon (game play wise) was completely
neutered by its ownership being determined by a first on the
buzzer question.
One of the interesting features of the game is that it can't
end in a draw.
